Professor Robyn Guymer will share details of her research into age-related macular degeneration at a conference in Sydney run by Vision Eye Institute.

Ophthalmologists from the Vision Eye Institute and special guest, Professor Guymer, who is deputy director of the Centre for Eye Research Australia will speak at enVision Conference, a CPD event in December.

‘For more than 20 years, eye care professionals from Sydney and regional New South Wales have been coming together for enVision – a day of continuing professional development for optometrists run by Vision Eye Institute,’ organisers said.

‘The one-day conference features a line-up that includes leading ophthalmologists from Vision Eye Institute’s Sydney clinics as well as renowned retinal ophthalmologist Professor Robyn Guymer.

‘Professor Guymer was recently awarded the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to medicine in the field of ophthalmology. She will be sharing details of her remarkable research into age-related macular degeneration.’

Organisers of the conference said other topics would cover clinically relevant information about the latest developments in eye care, including herpes simplex keratitis, cataract in the LASIK patient, ocular emergencies and urgent care, the future of ophthalmic surgery, plus much more.

Vision Eye Institute has applied for the event to be accredited with up to 15 CPD points, which will be valid for the next OBA registration period, from 1 December 2018 to 30 November 2019.

‘Following the positive response to last year’s venue, enVision will once again be held at ICC Sydney, with its stunning views of the harbour. This year’s event features a larger capacity to meet increasing demand,’ organisers said.

The 23rd Annual enVision Conference will be held on Sunday 9 December at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.
