Working with children checks

Children clearances help protect children from harm. The schemes operate differently across the country. In some states/territories optometrists are required to hold a check while in others they are exempt. Checks are only valid in the state of issue. Employers should also check requirements for non-optometric staff working with children. Optometrists practising interstate should check the relevant website.
