Optometry Victoria's Planning for Success seminar
Optometry Victoria's Planning for Success seminar was held on Monday 7 May, 2018.
The seminar was aimed at experienced members who are planning for the future, and early career members who are looking to move into practice partnership or ownership.
Participants were provided with practical information and advice on retirement and succession planning options. A networking session for early career members to meet experienced practitioners who are looking to bring in a business partner or sell their practice was a lot of fun, with great discussions and conversation.
Guest speakers were Steven Johnston, Chief Executive Officer at Provision and Graeme Schneider, Business Development Manager with Provision. They stepped members through the potential pit falls and processes to ensure that participants have an understanding of the options available to them, and how to take the next step.
The question and answer panel session with Optometry Victoria members who are considering retirement and succession planning, or who have recently taken on a partnership or bought a practice, followed the presentation and networking session. This provided participants with the opportunity to ask questions and learn from those who are going through, or who have recently been through, the process.
Panel speakers were: Leah Meulendijks, Peter Nixon, Norm Russo and Adrian Vecchio.
Optometry Victoria’s CEO Pete Haydon introduced the seminar, and provided an update on the work of the association including the 2018 strategic priorities.
The seminar was free for Optometry Victoria members, with 1.5 non-clinical points for participants.
